If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD’s throne is in heaven; his eyes see, his eyelids test the children of man. (Psalm 11:3-4)
David experienced the very foundations of his life and kingdom come crumbling down. While serving in King Saul’s court, David witnessed his king grow increasingly unstable even to the point of threatening David’s life. The very world he lived in came down all around him, and in the end he ran for his life.
As you experience the pillars of society and your life begins to shake and even fall where will you run? Let’s respond and say like David, “In the Lord I take refuge.”
