READ PSALM 13

How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?  (Psalm 13:1)

One of the deepest pains is to feel forgotten by those who you care about. It’s not that they stop remembering who you are, but they are absent when you need them the most. That’s how David felt. Sorrow consumed him from within, while enemies threatened him from the outside.

Maybe you feel similarly. Fear and anxiety has gripped your soul, while sickness and death lurks all around you. David felt forgotten by God, but He knew that God loved Him (v5) and showed His love by saving Him.

When you feel forgotten by God, know that He has given you the proof of His love. He gave you His one and only Son (Romans 8:32). And since He did not withhold Jesus from you, you can know that He will give you everything you need for every circumstance that comes your way. So like David, you are free to sing because God has done great things for you (v6).
