Let’ohana (
Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad. (Psalm 14:7)
Right now the world is racing to find a vaccine for the COVID-19. Recently, one immunologist claims to be close to engineering an antibiotic to combat the virus. We all pray for a vaccine to be made asap.
However, there’s one disease that no one is immune to. It’s sin. We all are sinners by nature and choice. That is why David wrote that no one ultimately does good, meeting God’s rightoues standard of living (v3). Sin has so corrupted humanity that no one seeks God outside of His influence (v2). If fact, we live lives as our own kings and queens while disregarding the true king (v1).
So where will we find the cure for the disease of sin that earns eternal punishment? In the Son of God, who came from heaven to earth becoming human to offer His life as a substitute for sinners. He alone fully obeyed the Father’s rightoues standard of living. Through faith in His death for our sins and His resurrection from the dead for our new life, we along with the people of God can “rejoice” and “be glad” because God “restores the fortunes of his people” in Jesus. Let’s spent time today praising Jesus along with the church ‘ohana HERE.
