Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! (Psalm 34:8)
One of the joys you may miss during this stay-at-home order is sharing a good meal with friends or family. Sure, ZOOM calls or Facetime get togethers provide some fellowship, but there is nothing like having your loved one’s full presence with you as you enjoy some ono food. How much more do we ache for them when we are feeling lonely and isolated.
In this psalm, David experienced God saving him from his enemies (v4). Yet, David was still removed from his people and his home. It is in this context, that David invites others to feast on God’s love. Through faith in Jesus, you can enter into the feast of God and share intimate time with Him even though you are distant from others. Listen and respond to the words of Jesus to His church, “I stand at the door and knock. if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” Taste and see that the Lord is good!
