READ PSALM 36

They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. (Psalm 36:8)

When people think about God, words like holy and powerful often come to mind. When it comes to God’s intentions towards humanity, words like loving and kind are common. However, for most the idea that God gives abundant delight for His children seems rare. Yet, this is exactly how God wants us to experience Him. He is the source of all life (v9). C.S. Lewis calls God in the Psalms the “all-satisfying Object.” What that means is even if many of your pleasurable activities such as trips, and group hangouts with friends and outdoor recreations have been put on hold, you can still engage in soul-satisfying pleasure, since God is with you. Spend time today thinking deeply about this truth and ask God to give you a heart that takes in His pleasure.
