READ PSALM 62

If riches increase, set not your heart on them. (Psalm 62:10)

In a time where our state is experiencing great financial need, it is natural to think money is the ultimate solution. Money can be used for great good, providing food and shelter for people. Money can also be a snare for those who trust in it to the point of pursuing it at all costs, even illegally (v10). Perhaps for you money is tight, and there’s a real temptation to compromise the God-given values found in His word in order to make money.

In those moments of temptation remember that power belongs to God, and His commitment to you is unwavering (v11-12). So trust God and do what is right for He cares for you and will reward those who do right and punish those who have done evil (v12).
