May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations. (Psalm 67:1-2
Humankind’s rebellion against God resulted in a brokenness towards one another. Instead of a a unified humanity worshipping the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the evils of racism, discrimination and division floods the human heart. Yet, the grace of God can overcome even the darkest of hearts, shining the light of the Gospel into it (2 Cor. 4:6).
God’s heart is for all nations, for all people are created in the image of God. Equal in value, robust in diversity. God chose Abraham and his descendants to bless all people’s of the earth. Through the Jewish people God would bring Jesus the Savior of the world to live, die and rise again, so that anyone who believes in him experiences the saving power of God, being adopted into His diverse family.
The grace of God shines upon us so that others may experience the saving power of God in their lives. As God has blessed us, we bless others by sharing Jesus with them. The motivation comes from His grace and the power comes from His Spirit. How can you be a blessing to others in the name of Jesus today? Pray, watch and step out in a prayerful dependency on the Spirit.
