But I will hope continually and will praise you yet more and more. (Psalm 71:14)
In life, there are times where difficulty and discouragement overwhelm you. Like a massive set of waves, you feel the hit of each wave taking away strength and endurance away from you with each hit. The tendency for many in such overwhelming circumstances is to give up. To succumb to the circumstance, which might look like losing one’s will to move forward in life or turning inward and distancing oneself from family members and friends or even turning away from God.
The good news is through the help of God, life does not have to end in drowning from your circumstances. Instead, by the Spirit power, you can lean more heavily on the love of God and choose to worship Him “more and more.” Hardship and suffering do not drown out our worship but can be used to intensify it. When the “waves” get higher, the cries to God get louder. After after you experience the faithfulness of God in your life, share with others about it (v18).
