READ PSALM 103

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. (Psalm 103:1-2)

As we wind down to the end of another work week, maybe you feel discouraged and weak? Aloha Friday feels more like frustrated and fatigued Friday. As you continue to adjust to the continual changes to life on our island, you are weary, and maybe all you see is the negatives in life. We need a psalm like this one to remind us of God’s continual goodness in a fallen broken world.

He encourages us to remember “all his benefits.” God forgives our sins and heals our diseases, which will reach full realization when Jesus returns. He pours out love and fatherly compassion on us, satisfying us with good things (v3-4). He defends us (v6) and keeps His promises (v18). He rules over all (v19). Think deeply today about all these benefits we have in Jesus and praise Him! (v21-23).
