May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in his works, (Psalm 104:31)
Creation is like an arrow pointing us to its Maker, a quiet voice whispering and sometimes roaring the name of the Creator. When God made the heavens, the earth and all that live on it, He declared His creation “very good.” Even through we live in a broken world which resulted from humanity’s rejection of God, the beauty and wonder from His creation still reflect our awesome God. And living on this island, we have a front row seat to much of His handiwork.
So in the crazy busyness of life, don’t miss out on savoring His works. Enjoy the beauty of the Koʻolau mountains as the rain clouds creep down it. Soak in the sights of the rainbows that appear in our valleys. Marvel at the immense Pacific Ocean that encompasses our tiny island. Reflect on the intricate designs and colors of our trees, plants and flowers. As followers of Jesus, our appreciation with nature does not end with nature itself. There a deeper level of joy we experience because behind that creation is a creative God who has invited us to know Him personally. Spend time today praising Him for His works.
