Praise the LORD, all nations! Extol him, all peoples! For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD! (Psalm 117:1-2)
On this Aloha Friday, maybe you find yourself thinking about all the challenges and difficulties over the past week. You are finding it hard to praise God. This psalm though short, is powerful and can help us. All people are commanded to praise the Lord. Why? His love is never-ending and his faithfulness is always available.
This great love was displayed in creation, where in love, God created the heavens and earth including humankind. His love is displayed in His commitment to rescue humanity from sin and death even though our first ancestors along with us rebelled against Him (Genesis 3:15). His faithfulness is seen in bringing His Savior King into the world through Abraham’s descendants and through the line of King David. All this despite God’s people acting unfaithfully towards Him. His love and faithfulness are seen in the cross, where Jesus suffered and died as the love of God was lifted up for all to see. His love and faithfulness is for all nations, as He built His church which is comprised of people from all nations and ethnicities. Because of His unstoppable love and faithfulness towards us, let us praise Him today for who He is and what He has done.
